ClamAV 0.90.1

ClamAV for Linux and FreeBSD has been updated. This release includes various bugfixes and code enhancements. Important note: please run ‘ldconfig’ after installing this version. One of the most important changes is the introduction of scripted updates. Instead of transferring the whole cvd file at each update, only the differences between the latest cvds and the previous versions will be transferred. Another noticeable change is the new configuration syntax: you can now turn single options on and off, the old crude hack of “DisableDefaultScanOptions” is no longer required. As part of the Google Summer of Code program, we have introduced support for a new phishing signatures format that has proved very effective in detecting phishing emails.

SPAMfighter 5.1.5

Spamfighter 5.1.5 has been released. This antispam plugin for outlook, outlook express or windows mail was updated with the following:

  • “Empty Spam Folder” now works as intended (Outlook Express)
  • Fixed X-Mailer false positive problem when checking emails in “Sent Items” (Outlook Express)

    SpamAssassin 3.1.8 released

    SpamAssassin 3.1.8 was released. SpamAssassin is the leading spamfilter written in Perl. This is a maintenance and security release of the 3.1.x branch. It is highly recommended that people upgrade to this version. This latest update covers, amongst other things, the following:

    • bug 5318: fix for CVE-2007-0451: possible DoS due to incredibly long URIs found in the message content.
    • bug 5240: disable perl module usage in update channels unless –allowplugins is specified
    • bug 5288: files with names starting/ending in whitespace weren’t usable
    • bug 5056: remove Text::Wrap related code due to upstream issues
    • bug 5145: update spamassassin and sa-learn to better deal with STDIN
    • bug 5140 and 5179: improvements and bug fixes related to DomainKeys and DKIM support
    • several updates for Received header parsing
    • several documentation updates and random taint-variable related issues

    Clam Antivirus for linux and BSD has been updated to version 0.88.7. Clam AV is mainly a emailserver addon which scan attachments and emails. In this latest version consists mainly of bugfixes.
